Overview
Cranes and contract lifts on Teesside
We supply mobile cranes with operators and carry out contract lifts across Middlesbrough and Teesside, for loads from 20kg up to 1,000 tonnes.
A lot of the lifting here means live plant, permits and tight shutdown windows. Tell us about the lift and we will plan the crane, the permits and the timing.
Which areas do we cover?
Every TS postcode, the rest of Teesside, and the rest of the UK when you need us.
Which cranes?
All-terrain mobile cranes for heavy plant and quaysides, city cranes and light truck cranes for tight yards, and our electric pick and carry cranes indoors.
No lift plan?
Book a contract lift. Our appointed person surveys, plans and supervises it, and it runs under our insurance.
Pricing only?
Send the weight, the reach and photos. A desktop quote generally follows the same day.

Your lift plan
For a contract lift our appointed person writes the lift plan and RAMS, built round the site’s permit rules, and sends them before the day.

What we plan for
Live process sites
On chemical and process plants we work to inductions, permits to work and exclusion zones, and fit the lift into the shutdown window.
The estuary wind
Sites near the estuary and the coast see strong winds, so the limits and some slack in the programme are planned in.
Reclaimed and industrial ground
Quaysides and old industrial land can be soft or poorly recorded. We check the bearing and the outrigger positions, with mats where needed.
The A66 and A19
Cranes come in on the A66 and the A19, routed round low bridges and weight limits before we quote.
Questions
Common questions
Can you work on permit-controlled chemical sites?
Yes. We work to site inductions, permits and exclusion zones, and plan the lift round the shutdown. Send the site rules with your enquiry.
Can you lift on the quayside?
Yes. Vessel movements, quayside ground bearing and the wind off the North Sea all go into the lift plan.
Can you move the machine as well?
Yes. We are part of Synergy Lifting, which moves machinery too, so skates or jacking inside and the crane outside are planned as one job.
What size crane will I need?
That depends on the weight at radius, the distance from the crane’s centre to the landing point, with the hook block and slings added.
Why book with us
What a Middlesbrough booking includes
Lift plans in house
Every contract lift plan comes from our own appointed persons, who visit first when the lift calls for it.
Close to the yard
Our Darlington yard is about 15 miles away, so cranes and equipment reach Middlesbrough sites quickly.
Shutdown work
Plant replacement and new installs on operating sites are planned into the shutdown window with the site team.
Road closures
If the crane needs part of the road or pavement, we apply to Middlesbrough Council and provide the traffic management.
Accredited
Certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, SSIP approved, a Constructionline Gold Member and in the CPA. Operators hold CPCS or NPORS cards.
More on the order
Transport, riggers, labour and machine movers can join the crane on the same order.
